Consultative Examinations
These are exams that social security will send claimants to. They usually take about 45 minutes where they go see a physical or psychological doctor and the doctor will render an opinion on what the limitations will be medically or mentally. The exams are very important in the process because if there is not a medical opinion the judge will rely on the consultative examination to decide what the work place limitations are. Social Security pays for the exams. If it is possible you should have someone go with you because some doctors do a very short exam and not a very good one. Having a third party there to document what happened to later explain to the judge.
Our practice areas include social security disability, veterans disability claims, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) Claims, and long term disability claims.
